Faculty of Agriculture UGM and MarkPlus Institute Officially Launch the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Program
Grand Launching Doctor of Business Administration in Agribusiness Entrepreneurial Marketing: Innovation in Education for the Agricultural Sector.
Jakarta, December 7 – The escalating global climate change and rising food demands have posed significant challenges to the agricultural sector at both national and global levels. In response to these complex issues, the Faculty of Agriculture at Gadjah Mada University is committed to developing agile human resources in the agricultural field to implement sustainable food production, specifically through a concept known as Smart Eco-bio production.
To address these challenges proactively, the Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, in collaboration with MarkPlus Institute, has taken a pioneering step towards advancing the agricultural sector through an innovative partnership. This collaboration has resulted in the development of a doctoral program focused on providing practical solutions to support the sustainability of the agricultural sector. This international program is designed to integrate the expertise of academics, consultants, and business and agricultural practitioners to address the dynamic changes in the agricultural world.
To officially launch this collaboration, the Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, and MarkPlus Institute hosted the Grand Launching of the Doctor of Business Administration in Agribusiness Entrepreneurial Marketing during the 18th MarkPlus Conference on December 7, 2023, at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place.
Attended by key figures including Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN Eng. (Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology), Prof. dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D. (Rector of Gadjah Mada University), Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D. (Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, UGM), Dr. Rr. Siti Murtiningsih (Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, UGM), Hermawan Kartajaya (Chairman of MCorp), Jacky Mussry (Deputy Chairman of MCorp), and Ardhi Ridwansyah (COO of MarkPlus Institute), the event marked a joint commitment to driving significant innovation in the agricultural sector through doctoral education.
“We believe that solutions to current agricultural challenges must involve multidisciplinary expertise, and this doctoral program is a tangible manifestation of a collaboration that brings together creative thinking and in-depth knowledge. We aim to strengthen competencies in entrepreneurship to produce experts in agribusiness entrepreneurship and marketing who can creatively develop science and innovation on a global scale,” stated Prof. dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D., the Rector of Gadjah Mada University.
The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Agribusiness Entrepreneurial Marketing program aims to produce leaders capable of delivering innovative and sustainable business strategies in the agricultural industry. Program participants will gain a deep understanding of business, marketing, and entrepreneurship aspects within the agricultural context.
Supported by experienced faculty and supervisors, this program offers a unique opportunity for doctoral candidates to contribute directly to the development of the agricultural sector and make a positive impact in addressing contemporary challenges.
